Thought I would answer my own question. Did a hard reset and the problem was no longer there this morning.

Theme Editor Gradient Control
Hi
I am working my way through the videos and reached the theme editor. I am using the White on Black and attempting to apply a gradient to the background but it appears greyed out. It does not produce a drop-down menu and whenever I select it closes the content tab.
